Arsenal Sporting Director Reacts To The Club Signing Mbappe
Arsenal sporting director, Edu Gaspar, has reacted to the Gunners making a move to sign Paris Saint-Germain superstar, Kylian Mbappe.
Mbappe has told PSG that he will not be continuing with them beyond his current official deal contract, which expires in the summer of 2024.
That means that he would walk out as a free agent next summer if the Parisians fail to sell him in the ongoing transfer window.
Reports have suggested that Arsenal could look to make a move for Mbappe in 2024.
The reports intensified after the Frenchman was spotted hanging with the Gunners’ Folarin Balogun.
One fan wrote on Instagram:
“Edu will really be sliding into Mbappe’s DMs soon.”
The Arsenal sporting director saw the funny side of things and left five laughing emojis under the post.
In other news Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta has commented on the signing of Kai Havertz from Chelsea.
Arsenal had on Wednesday confirmed the signing of Havertz from Chelsea.
Reacting, Arteta told the club’s official website that the Germany international would bring extra strength to Arsenal’s midfield and variety to the team’s style of play.
The Spaniard also labelled the 24-year-old as an intelligent player.
Arteta said:
“Kai [Havertz] is a player of top quality. He has great versatility and is an intelligent player.
“He will bring a huge amount of extra strength to our midfield and variety to our play.
“We welcome Kai and his family to Arsenal Football Club, and we are all excited to start working with him when we start pre-season training soon.”
